This is what I have in mind for the in-game editor, built completely with the game’s engine and UI framework:
To the top are tabs showing major functionality of the editor. Clicking on each will change the panels available on the main window, except for the debug window and minimap.
Holding down the right click and moving the mouse in the map screen will pan the map according to the mouse movement, while left clicking will select the particular tile.

In my previous post I mentioned that I wanted to withhold the release of concept artwork because I wanted to a batch update. Well, I changed my mind, mainly because there’s a good chance I won’t be able to release the intended mega update by the end of this month.
So here it is, the brilliant concept work by Alex Drummond. If you’re an indie developer too, I encourage you to contract him for your concept artwork. He is both brilliant AND charges a reasonable price too. Highly recommended!
